Dr. Margaret Chan, Head Of World Health Organization (WHO), Says Capitalistic, Profit-Only Pharmaceutical Companies’ Inaction Is The Reason EBOLA Thrives! “Because Ebola has historically been confined to poor African nations, the R&D incentive is virtually non-existent.”

WHO: Profit-Motive in Drug Industry Has Hampered Ebola Response

The head of the World Health Organization has said the pharmaceutical industry is partially to blame for the rapid spread of Ebola. Speaking at a conference in Benin, Margaret Chan said drug companies have shunned efforts to find a cure for Ebola because it impacts impoverished countries unable to afford expensive drugs.

Dr. Margaret Chan: “The research and development incentive is virtually non-existent. A profit-driven industry does not invest in products for markets that cannot pay. WHO has been trying to make this issue visible for ages. Now people can see for themselves.”

Chan also faulted the absence of effective public health systems in the West African countries worst hit by Ebola: Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

In an address to the Regional Committee for Africa, Sixty-fourth Session, Cotonou, Republic of Benin on Monday, Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr Margaret Chan dedicated part of her speech to the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in West Africa.

“Ladies and gentlemen,

“The Ebola outbreak that is ravaging parts of West Africa is the most severe acute public health emergency seen in modern times. It has many unprecedented dimensions, including its heavy toll on frontline domestic medical staff.

“I extend my deepest sympathy to the people of West Africa who have seen so many of their fellow countrymen fall ill and die. I extend my deepest sympathy to the families, the loved ones, the neighbours, and entire villages and communities.

“I can tell you one thing: every one of these West Africans who died from Ebola was beloved.

“All of us must respect the compassion and courage of so many health workers, who unselfishly risked their lives, and lost them. The three countries have lost some of their greatest humanitarian heroes.

“In the midst of these alarming trends, two WHO arguments that have fallen on deaf ears for decades are now out there with consequences that all the world can see, every day, on prime-time TV news.

“The first argument concerns the urgent need to strengthen long-neglected health systems, an argument long-championed by your RD.

“When heads of state in non-affected countries talk about Ebola, they rightly attribute the outbreak’s unprecedented severity to the ‘failure to put basic public health infrastructures in place’.

“Without fundamental public health infrastructures in place, no country is stable. No society is secure. No resilience exists to withstand the shocks that our 21st century societies are delivering with ever-greater frequency and force, whether from a changing climate or a runaway killer virus.

“The second argument is this: Ebola emerged nearly four decades ago. Why are clinicians still empty-handed, with no vaccines and no cure?

“Because Ebola has historically been confined to poor African nations, the R&D incentive is virtually non-existent. A profit-driven industry does not invest in products for markets that cannot pay. WHO has been trying to make this issue visible for ages. Now people can see for themselves.”

TABACCO EPILOGUE

About 50,000 persons per year die from automobile accidents!

Who knows how many die annually from cigarettes, guns, the common cold, and that malady that dare not speak its name: IATROGENESIS!

So far only 1-individual, a Black man from Africa, has died in the USA recently from Ebola. But the Mainstream Media (bless its little pointed head) has grabbed onto this story so that everybody is afraid of anybody, who has ever stepped foot on African soil. That’s the GOOD NEWS!

Why is that GOOD NEWS? Because Ebola has been around in Africa for decades! This is NOT a New Disease! You and the Mainstream Media don’t care about the deaths of West Africans from EBOLA just as You and the Mainstream Media don’t give a rat’s ass about the deaths of Millions of Muslims in those Middle Eastern OPEC countries at the hands and behest of the United States of America.

But let one person die in the USA from EBOLA and everybody is running scared, isolating those, who can even spell ‘Africa’ even though the folks (white or black), who return from West Africa are not contagious until they themselves show signs of illness. But we isolate them when they get off the plane even if they show no signs whatsoever! Blame the GOP for that charade!

Those For-Profit Only Capitalists, who run the Pharmaceutical Giants, only R&D BIG DISEASES, so they can recover their Investments and show BIG CAPITALIST PROFITS. They ignore Diseases, which affect only a few and those, which affect 3rd world impoverished countries (West Africa for example) where they would not recoup their R&D Investment.

I keep telling my Readers about CAPITALISM’S BIG FLAWS, but the MSM does not! So Capitalism continues on its merry way to record profits while those who suffer from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) for example are damned because so few of us are victims of ALS.

If they had AIDS instead, they would be better off – at least today! Of course, because of Ron Reagan’s opinion of homosexuals, even AIDS wouldn’t have done these few any good in the 1970s. Only when heterosexual White folks began dropping like flies, did your government begin to take any serious notice or action.

One Response to Dr.

VACCINES VS. PERPETUAL Rx For Rest Of Your Life?

Which do you think the Pharmaceuticals, Hospitals, Doctors & AMA prefer?

If you guessed ‘Vaccines’, you ought to be ashamed of yourself! A single vaccine can last a lifetime or maybe with a single refresher 50-years after it was given. Where’s the PROFIT in that!

If you guessed ‘Perpetuals’, go to the Head of the Class! Now you are thinking like a CAPITALIST! With ‘Perpetuals’, Pharmaceuticals perpetually manufacture the Drug, Hospitals get a perpetual inflow of patients for treatment, Doctors are never twiddling their thumbs or wondering where their next Insurance payment is coming from, and the AMA – well, I guess you get the idea.

Remember how they invented Electric Cars decades ago? They didn’t sell them; they leased them instead. The few, who leased those Electrics, were thrilled with them, including some famous Hollywood celebrities. But the Inventors could smell a BIG PAYDAY almost immediately. So guess who bought the Patent for the Electric, recalled all those leased vehicles, then scrapped them saying, “Nobody likes or wants Electric Cars!”

Why did the buyer lie like that? Because you don’t make nearly as much PROFIT from the sale of a RECHARGEABLE BATTERY as you do for selling gasoline ad nauseam at $4.00 per gallon – that’s why!

Don’t you folks understand Capitalism yet!
