2016 PROLOGUE

Tabacco: From the Republican List of ‘Declared Candidates’ & ‘Candidates Waiting In The Wings’, it is patently obvious that becoming President is the 1st step to PERSONAL RICHES BEYOND BELIEF! Why else do you think this List is so long? Certainly not to raise Economic Standards for the Middleclass!

Where else in America could you find a Line this long consisting of Rich Republicans! Only those seeking the Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow would stand in Line for that Long and for that Length of Time!

George Pataki? Who dug up that corpse!

Why not Thomas E. Dewey? Don’t laugh! America has had lots of Bad Republican Presidents already, some of which were dead already when they entered 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Ronald Reagan was practically a Zombie during his 2nd term in office when he was entering his Alzheimer’s stage and Nancy was running 1600.

GOPer, Scott Walker: Anti-Unionist + A Lot More

http://www.democracynow.org/2015/7/14/the_austerity_candidate_wisconsin_gov_scott

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has become the 15th Republican candidate to formally announce he’s running for president. On Monday, Walker launched his campaign by touting his successful efforts to eviscerate public employee unions in his home state and later defeat a recall effort against him. He also extolled his record reducing taxes, cutting the size of the federal government and passing voter restrictions. On the domestic front, Governor Scott Walker promised to repeal ObamaCare, build the Keystone XL pipeline, subject welfare recipients to drug tests, and roll back federal regulations. On the international front, he vowed to reject the nuclear deal with Iran, re-establish an “unshakable bond” with Israel, focus more on Islamic terrorism and less on climate change, as well as engage more aggressively with Russia and China. We go to Wisconsin to speak with John Nichols of The Nation. “If there is someone who has attempted to impose an austerity agenda in an American state, in many senses, it is Scott Walker,” Nichols says.

AMY GOODMAN: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has become the 15th Republican candidate to formally announce he’s running for president. On Monday, Walker launched his campaign by touting his successful efforts to eviscerate public employee unions in his home state and later defeat a recall effort against him. He also extolled his record reducing taxes, cutting the size of the federal government, and passing voter restrictions.

Tabacco: Don’t forget those grains of salt before reading!

GOV. SCOTT WALKER: We need new, fresh leadership, leadership with big, bold ideas from outside of Washington, the kind of leadership that knows how to get things done, like we’ve done here in Wisconsin. Since I’ve been governor, we took on the unions, and we won. We lowered taxes by $2 billion. In fact, we lowered taxes on individuals, on employers and property owners. Property taxes today are lower than they were four years ago. How many other governors can say that? Since I’ve been governor, we passed lawsuit reform@ and regulatory reform. We defunded Planned Parenthood and passed pro-life legislation. We enacted castle doctrine and concealed carry, so we can protect ourselves, our families and our property. And we now require a photo ID to vote in this state*. If our reforms can work in a blue state like Wisconsin, they can work anywhere in America.

AMY GOODMAN: On the domestic front, Governor Scott Walker promised to repeal Obamacare, build the Keystone XL pipeline, subject welfare recipients to drug tests and roll back federal regulations (b). On the international front, he vowed to reject the nuclear deal with Iran, re-establish an unshakable bond with Israel, focus more on Islamic terrorism and less on climate change, as well as engage more aggressively with Russia and China. He is best known for gutting collective bargaining rights for public sector workers in 2011. On Sunday, he signed a state budget, which slashes funding for the University of Wisconsin, expands the voucher program for private schools and eliminates the state’s living wage law.

(b)You just know those regulations are relevant to Big Biz!

On Monday, the AFL-CIO president, Richard Trumka, issued a one-sentence statement on Walker: quote, “Scott Walker is a national disgrace.”

GOPer, Jeb Bush, Former Florida Governor, George W. Bush’s Brother

Tabacco: To learn more about Jeb Bush, read about his brother, former President George W. Bush, and his dad, former President George H. W. Bush! In the event you forgot those periods between 2001 to 2008 & 1988 to 1992, when those Bushes ran the country, I can’t understand for the life of me why you are even bothering to read this Blog!

GOPer, Donald Trump, Real Estate Tycoon With Several Business Bankruptcies He Chooses To Ignore & A Mouth Not Heard In These Parts Since The Days Of George Wallace, Lester Maddox & Orval Faubus!

Tabacco: Donald Trump wants America to believe that a SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMAN is required to be a Great President! Trump’s “success” has fluctuated from Great to Dismal on more than one occasion.

When I think of Businessman Presidents, Jimmy Carter springs to mind!

Most importantly, there is a humongous difference between Corporate CEO of a privately owned firm and US President. The former can hire and fire as he sees fit, run his competitors out-of-business if he can, and the only requirement for any Corporation is that it “maximize its own profits”.

A President cannot hire and fire Senators & Congressmen, run competitors out-of-business (unless you refer to Russia and China with Nuclear Weapons), and the Federal government is NOT in the Business of MAKING A PROFIT. If you doubt that, check the current status of our NATIONAL DEBT!

In case it slipped your imagination, think of Donald Trump sitting in the Oval Office with his index finger on that RED BUTTON! Thanks, but NO THANKS!

Did I forget to mention, The Donald has held NO Political Office of any kind – EVER!

DEM, Bernie Sanders, The Socialist, Who Scares The Beejeebees Out of Corporate Hogs!

http://www.democracynow.org/2015/7/14/something_big_is_happening_john_nichols

We speak with John Nichols, political writer for The Nation, about the presidential candidacy of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Nichols introduced Sanders at a recent event in Madison, Wisconsin, where the senator drew a record crowd of more than 10,000 people. “The key thing here is this 2016 presidential race, at least on the Democratic side, and I would even suggest on the Republican side, is being profoundly influenced by movements that are demanding that income inequality, wage gaps, wage stagnation be addressed,” Nichols says. “Something big is happening, and I think that’s why people are turning out in these huge numbers.”

AMY GOODMAN: And just 30 seconds on a new issue! Also in Wisconsin, history was recently made for the presidential race of 2016. You introduced Vermont independent Senator Bernie Sanders—that’s not what the history was—who’s challenging Hillary Clinton.

JOHN NICHOLS: No, it wasn’t.

AMY GOODMAN: But the fact that over 10,000 people showed up to see him. He is pulling—of any Republican or Democratic candidate, Bernie Sanders, the socialist, is pulling more people in, the largest crowds of this election season.

JOHN NICHOLS: Well, I want to emphasize, I was asked to talk a little bit about movements and talk a little bit about the progressive tradition, not to tell people how to vote. So, in introducing Bernie Sanders, I had a unique setting there. I got to say that this candidacy, to my view, is not about Bernie Sanders. This is about the movements that have developed over the last five or six years, particularly since the meltdown of 2008, in which people have really begun to organize around economic issues and a host of other issues, and bring them to the fore politically. And I think that’s the important thing to emphasize, Amy. Whether somebody supports Bernie Sanders or Martin O’Malley or even Hillary Clinton, the key thing here is, this 2016 presidential race, at least on the Democratic side—and I would even suggest on the Republican side—is being profoundly influenced by movements that are demanding that income inequality, wage gaps, wage stagnation be addressed. They really are, in many ways, an American equivalent of the global movements that are raising austerity issues.

And I would emphasize also that, you know, while Sanders has really brought a lot of these to a head, Martin O’Malley is also beginning to talk about it, and even Hillary Clinton yesterday, in her remarks, embraced a lot of the language and some of the thinking of these movements. So something big is happening. And I think that’s why people are turning out in these huge numbers, because they want to emphasize, talk about it.

AMY GOODMAN: John Nichols, thanks so much for being with us from Madison, political writer for The Nation, has the cover story of the last Nation magazine.

New Poll: Bernie Sanders Leads Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire

A new opinion poll shows Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has taken his first lead in New Hampshire, home of the nation’s first primary. The poll released shows Sanders has 44 percent support among likely New Hampshire Democratic primary voters, compared to only 37 percent support for Hillary Clinton. This poll follows a series of speaking events where Sanders has drawn record crowds. On Sunday, 28,000 turned out for his speech in Portland, Oregon. It was the largest campaign rally for any candidate this year. A day later, more than 27,000 people attended his event in Los Angeles. Before the speech, the campaign’s new press secretary, Symone Sanders, an African-American criminal justice advocate, spoke about the Black Lives Matter movement and said, “No candidate for president is going to fight harder for criminal justice reform and racial justice issues than Senator Bernie Sanders.”

Trump Calls for Deportation of All Undocumented Immigrants

On the Republican campaign trail, Donald Trump has released his policy on immigration. The plan includes forcing Mexico to pay for a border wall, deporting all undocumented immigrants, ending citizenship rights for children of immigrants born in the United States and revoking Obama’s executive orders on immigration. Trump spoke to Chuck Todd of NBC’s Meet the Press.

Donald Trump: “The executive order gets rescinded. One good thing about” —

Chuck Todd: “You’ll rescind — you’ll rescind that one, too?”

Donald Trump: “One good thing about” —

Chuck Todd: “You’ll rescind the DREAM Act executive order, the DACA?”

Donald Trump: “We’re going to have to. We have to make a whole new set of standards. And when people come in, they have to come in with” —

Chuck Todd: “So you’re going to split up families? You’re going to deport children?”

Donald Trump: “Chuck, Chuck, no, no. We’re going to keep the families together. We have to keep the families together, but they have to go.”

Chuck Todd: “But you’re going to keep them together out.”

Donald Trump: “But they have to go.”

Chuck Todd: “What if they have no place to go?”

Donald Trump: “We will work with them. They have to go.”

Jeb Bush Refuses to Rule Out Resumption of Torture

Fellow Republican candidate Jeb Bush has refused to rule out resuming the use of torture techniques employed under his brother, former President George W. Bush. Bush made the comments in response to a question in Iowa last week.

Questioner: “Do you believe that the CIA engaged in torture by the common definition, and would you bring those techniques back under any circumstances as president?”

Jeb Bush: “I don’t want to make a definitive, blanket kind of statement. This is something that is actually — I’m not struggling with. It’s — I’m running for president, not running for the Senate or running for, you know, governor. When you’re president, your words matter, and I’m cautious about making commitments without having all the facts, because this is a serious undertaking.”

The super PAC supporting Bush’s presidential bid will reportedly spend $10 million on its first major TV ad campaign beginning next month. Meanwhile, Trump has said he is willing to spend $1 billion of his own money on his campaign.

Jeb Bush Defends Use of Controversial Term “Anchor Babies”

In news from the campaign trail, Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush has said he does not regret using the term “anchor babies” during a radio interview on Wednesday. In the interview, he said he supports the 14th Amendment, which guarantees people born on American soil are automatically U.S. citizens, but that he wants more enforcement to protect against so-called anchor babies. Jeb Bush responded to questions from reporters Thursday.

Reporter 1: “Do you regret using the term ‘anchor babies’ yesterday on the radio?”

    Jeb Bush: “No, I didn’t. I don’t. I don’t regret it.”

Reporter 1: “You don’t regret it?”

Jeb Bush: “No. Do you have a better term?”

    Reporter 1: “I’m not—I’m asking you.”

Jeb Bush: “OK, you give me—you give me a better term, and I’ll use it. I’m serious.”

    Reporter 1: “Governor, Governor”—

Jeb Bush: “Don’t yell at me behind my ear, though.

    Reporter 1: “Sorry about that.”

Reporter 2: “Is that not bombastic language, ‘anchor baby’? Is that not bombastic language?”

Jeb Bush: “No, it isn’t. Give me another—give me another word.”

In response, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton tweeted: “How about ‘babies,’ ‘children,’ or ‘American citizens?’”

Sanders Closes in on Clinton in Iowa Poll

On the campaign trail, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has continued to surge in popularity against Hillary Clinton. A new poll in Iowa shows Sanders running just seven points behind Clinton with 30 percent support. Clinton has lost a third of her supporters since the last survey in May, while Sanders has nearly doubled his share of the vote. An earlier poll in New Hampshire showed Sanders leading Clinton by seven points in that key primary state.

Christie Says He Would Track Immigrants Like FedEx Packages

On the Republican side, Donald Trump has continued his lead, surging to 23 percent support in the Iowa poll. On Saturday, hundreds of immigrants rallied outside Trump’s speech in Nashville, Tennessee, protesting Trump for vowing to deport all undocumented people and for calling Mexican immigrants “rapists.” Fellow Republican candidate New Jersey Governor Chris Christie meanwhile told an audience in New Hampshire Saturday he would track immigrants like FedEx packages.

Gov. Chris Christie: “So here’s what I’m going to do as president. I’m going to ask Fred Smith, the founder of FedEx, come work for the government for three months. Just come for three months to Immigration and Custom Enforcement and show these people. Because guess what. Of the 11 million people who are here illegally, 40 percent of them didn’t come in over the southern border; 40 percent of them came in legally with a visa and overstayed their visa. We need to have a system that tracks you from the moment you come in, and then when your time is up, whether it’s three months or six months or nine months or 12 months, however long your visa is, then we go get you.”

Republican presidential contender and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has also made headlines with his most recent remarks on immigration, telling NBC’s Meet the Press building a wall between the United States and Canada is a “legitimate issue for us to look at.”

Ben Carson Compares People Who Have Abortions to Slaveowners

Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson has said abortion should be illegal in all cases, including rape and incest. Carson, who is now leading in the key caucus state of Iowa over front-runner Donald Trump, made the remarks on NBC’s Meet the Press in response to a question from Chuck Todd.

Chuck Todd: “What if somebody has an unwanted pregnancy? Should they have the right to terminate?”

Ben Carson: “No. Think about this. During slavery—and I know that’s one of those words you’re not supposed to say, but I’m saying it. During slavery, a lot of the slaveowners thought that they had the right to do whatever they wanted to that slave—anything that they chose to do. And, you know, what if the abolitionists had said, ‘You know, I don’t believe in slavery. I think it’s wrong. But you guys do whatever you want to do’? Where would we be?”

Candidates Reject Minimum Wage Hike at GOP Debate

The fourth Republican presidential debate took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, last night with a smaller field of candidates on stage. Eight out of the 14 candidates took part in the main event after low poll numbers forced New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee to the so-called undercard debate. The first question of the night focused on protesters, who massed outside the debate venue demanding a $15-an-hour minimum wage. Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Florida Senator Marco Rubio all rejected a minimum wage increase. Trump said wages are already too high.

Donald Trump: “Taxes too high, wages too high, we’re not going to be able to compete against the world. I hate to say it, but we have to leave it the way it is. People have to go out, they have to work really hard, and they have to get into that upper stratum.”

Fast-Food Workers Walk Out Across the U.S.

Trump’s remarks came as fast-food workers walked off the job in hundreds of cities across the country, demanding a $15-an-hour minimum wage and union rights. Here in New York, restaurant server Gabrielle Hatcher said the movement has broad support.

Gabrielle Hatcher: “This is support for a lot of different things. I know that One Fair Wage is here. I know that Black Lives Matter is here. And I think some people are wondering why they’re here, but racial justice and economic justice are just two sides of the same coin. As a woman of color, I’ve been passed up for promotions for higher-paying positions because I’m a woman of color. I’ve been turned away from fine dining restaurants because they only hire white males as servers. So they are one in the same. And there’s no room for growth right now, and I think that that needs to change and that it can change.”

Workers who serve food at the U.S. Capitol also took part in Tuesday’s nationwide strike. WHY DEMOCRATS MUST NOMINATE BERNIE SANDERS IN PRIMARIES!

When a Mediocre Democrat wins the White House, Independents have no alternative but to conclude that it doesn’t matter whether the President is Democrat or GOPer! “Since when does a BAD DEMOCRAT TRUMP A BAD REPUBLICAN!”

Actually a BAD DEMOCRAT DOES TRUMP A BAD REPUBLICAN, but these are ‘Independents’ we’re talking about. They still believe in the possibility of an Abe Lincoln rising to the top of the GOP in the 21st century! That’s why so many Independent Voters vote Republican so often. We’re not discussing Logical People here, folks. We’re discussing Independents! By definition, they vote Republican about half the time.

That’s why we MUST give America a Great Candidate for President, Bernie Sanders. Then hope he does NOT become self-serving Hillary Clinton in Drags!

Hillary Clinton has the ABILITY to be PRESIDENT! That is NOT the ISSUE! The ISSUE is her LACK OF ETHICS! So if Hillary wins the Democratic Nomination and is elected President, she will be succeeded by an equally INFERIOR REPUBLICAN because that’s all there are at the Top of the Republican Party. When your only Goal is to SERVE BUSINESS, you cannot Serve 2 Masters! All Republican Politicians Serve the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR – ALL REPUBLICANS!

So if Independents cannot support Hillary, I suggest they sit this one out because a BAD DEMOCRAT is still preferable to a BAD REPUBLICAN at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

DEMOCRATIC VOTERS MUST STOP HAVING ‘ELECTABILITY’ as their PRIME DIRECTIVE! You will probably be WRONG with the ‘Electable’ Candidate anyway. And this time the CHOICE is so GLARING (HILLARY VS. BERNIE) that we must Nominate the Better Candidate NOW! Who knows when or if we will ever have another OPPORTUNITY like this! And Electing Hillary in 2016 will guarantee LOSS of the White House in 2020!

Hillary is a COMPROMISER! Obama is a COMPROMISER! You must not compromise with EVIL! Hell, the Republicans don’t Compromise at all – particularly the TEA PARTY. And they are EVIL!

What did Einstein say? What is ‘Doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result’? QED
